Triceratops is a ceratopsian dinosaur that lived in North America during the late Cretaceous period. The name Triceratops means three horned face because it has two 3 foot long horns on the top of its eyes and a short horn on the nose. Triceratops coexist with Tyrannosaurus rex, Ankylosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, Troodon, Pachycephalosaurus, and Ornithomimus. Triceratops uses its horns to defend against predators like T-rex and to fight other male Triceratops during the mating season.
